Things to Do with Burlap #2 – Picture Mat/Frame

I have had the perfect mounted print for my guest room forever. The problem was that it needed a frame, unless I was going to go for that whole college, just tape it to the wall look. (Not really what I wanted for the room, ya know?)

If you ‘member, the free frugal furniture  in there has a slightly Jacobean feel.

The print has the same look/feeling.

I had this ugly frame and picture……(sorry Decanso Garden)

So, armed with spray paint, a glue gun and some scissors….

I am sorry that I can’t show the whole room, but until I get some better lighting in there, it looks like a cave in pictures!

The one creepy part of the project was this little guy I found hanging out on my burlap stash. He was huge and oh yeah, I screamed like a girl. No one was home to hear me, so it didn’t count though.

Coming up is this Burlap Obsession is a banner, a table round, a table runner and placemats. I have to spread the projects out because the stuff makes me sneeze & wheeze like one of the Seven Dwarfs, you know the one:)

Yikes, hope he's a local and not a stowaway from the coffee plantation.

The frame looks great. Can't wait to see the whole room together.

Hi Gwen....the picture and the burlap look good together. I'm really liking the burlap projects. I was reading a decorating article in the Sunday paper today and they talked about what a great material burlap was to use in decorating....you obviously already knew that :)
Have a great week.

Wow Gwen, super idea with the burlap ! I am loving burlap as it creates such great depth....
I would have just clocked that spider - that is one thing I am not afraid of....if it were a mouse - now then I would jump and run and scream !!!

Hi Gwen.
The matting looks great, but that little stow a way is nasty! I would have been smashing. It wouldn't have been pretty. There probably would have been scary spider bits all over the place.

Unexpected house guests are never good, and when they have eight legs, the only answer is to scream.
Lovely result with the picture!

Your mat project is great! I am totally on the burlap brigade!

That looks like a funnel spider and they DO get big! I read somewhere that "spiders are the most feared organisms on earth" I tend to agree, second only to snakes!

Great job! A friend of mine just did this with some of her photos and I just love the look of a burlap mat.

Okay somehow my comment didn't take the 1st time. Let's try this again. Can't wait to see what you're doing with the burlap, and what did you do with the dated headboard. I won't repeat what I said about the spider suffice to say I've killed a few here.
