Things to Do with Burlap #1 - Recycling Bin

Do you use those blue recycling bins in the house? The ones that are really useful, but ugly?

Well, I have a lot of them and use them too religiously to hide them away in a cabinet or out of sight. So, for my first “Mecca of Burlap” project, I prettied them up a bit.

HOT GLUE + TRASH BIN + BURLAP =

Word of caution-burlap has a really open weave and when you are pushing it down onto hot glue, it comes through and burns your fingers! I have four more of these bins to do as soon as my fingers cool off.

No one said that you can’t recycle and be stylish at the same time!

I love it!! I really like the print on the burlap. I am into using burlap right now.....I found several yards at a thrift store for pennies....I look forward to seeing more of your burlap projects.

Ow! Hot glue = pain! But the end result sure is wonderful!

Now if that isn't the most clever idea I've seen in a long time I don't know what is. I love it Gwen.

How did you ad your google adsense to the comments section? That's a good idea of placement too.

What a great job! Thanks for that tip on burning your fingers...I always seem to find a way to fry myself with that glue gun~

Thats super cute. I often times make "finger covers" using masking tape when I use hot glue. I place several pieces at the ready so I can replace them fast when I really get going.

I would never have thought of putting the two together, but what a fantastic idea. The result looks great!
